I'm Peggy, the owner of Fluffy Bubs. I am a mother of three, two boys (5 & 4) and a little 1 year old princess. I used disposable nappies with my first son, unaware of the many cloth choices out there. When I had my second son, once again we started with disposable nappies and I found myself throwing away in excess of 80 nappies a week between the two boys! Not only did our regular garbage not fit in the bin, but the smell...less said about that the better. There had to be a better way.
With some guidance from friends who were using cloth, I soon found myself immersed in the possibilities, cuteness and ease of use with cloth. It certainly wasn't the terry towel squares, folding, pinning and soaking that I had imagined.
I trialled many of the popular brands - fitteds, all in one’s (AIO’s), all in two’s (AI2’s) and pockets, but I still hadn’t found a solution that worked for us. Soon I began my next addiction of making nappies, determined to make a nappy that wouldn’t leave rashes on my son’s sensitive tooshie, be free of leaks, and fit both my boys as they have an 18 month age gap.
First came the night nappy. The evolution of the ‘Dreams’ nappy started with a friend seeking the ultimate night nappy that would be trim, absorbent and most importantly, one that didn’t leak! I also wanted something simpler than a ‘fitted and cover system’. My son’s were nappy change wrigglers – they wouldn’t give me a second go at putting another layer on! Once this was perfected, along came the ‘Minky Days’ OSFM nappy.
I was looking at versatility and value for money when designing both nappies and I think I have achieved that balance.
